Another blog post that considers whether or not the proper procedures are in place for resolving conflict when it concerns priests.

Comment on Franciscan Disrespects Glenn Beck by Greg Stone

Ben, thanks for your comment. You are correct, he did call for people to leave the church if the priest, pastor, or minister used the term "social justice."

But then he went on to explain what he meant...later in the same broadcast and then in a number of broadcasts in which he spoke with priests, pastors, ministers, and rabbis.

He explained how one must discern the difference between faith-based charity and the use of the term "social justice" as a buzzword for Marxism.

Beck went on to supply examples of those who have conflated Christian charity with Marxism.

The Franciscan mentioned in my blog post knows of this history in the Catholic Church, which is tied in with the general subject of "liberation theology."

Pope Benedict XVI, a brilliant writer, has written on liberation theology as well as the dangers of Marxism in a number of essays well worth reading as aids for discernment. In fact, Beck even quoted Benedict on a segment addressing the issue of social justice.

One example of someone who distorts the faith in this manner is presidential spiritual adviser Jim Wallis. Beck played video of Wallis, years ago, speaking to his affinity for Marxism.

Beck went on to point out that Wallis' group, Sojourners, was one of a multitude of groups/individuals advising our president while being funded by George Soros, a billionaire speculator atheist who advocates Marxist ideas with his Open Society Institute.

Wallis, playing dumb, denied the charge, and publicly accused Beck of being a liar. (Much as Rohr accused Beck in his Daily Meditations.)

That was before Wallis knew Beck had the proof. So, our spiritual adviser to the president not only conflates Marxist activism with the faith, he is dishonest as well.

This is the type of "social justice" to which Beck was referring—the kind in which people of faith are misled into supporting Marxist ideology and activism.

Friar Richard Rohr needed to do his homework in order to recognize and discern the actual nature of Beck's comments. He owes that much to the cause of honesty and humility.

Of course, we also discover that the Catholic group CLINIC, involved in immigration issues, is funded by Soros. So some connected with the immigration effort (perhaps Richard Rohr???) are a little sensitive when it is pointed out by Beck that Soros, an atheist, is funding their political activity.
